The Israeli federation of international freight forwarders and customs clearing agents (IFFCCA) met last week, for the first time, following the election in which Mr. Shlomo Sharon was elected to act as the federation's chairman.
 
Mr. Sharon presided over the meeting in which the following appointments were made :
Mr. Shaul Ramon, director general of Newlog ltd. was elected deputy chairman of the federation. Mr.Reuven Krief, director general of Kreif Albatros ltd. responsible for freight forwarding matters. Mr. Sharon Sofrin, deputy director of A. Sofrin ltd., responsible for import & customs matters. Mrs. Nora Siperman, director general of Orian Agish ltd., treasurer.
 
The Israeli Federation of International Freight Forwarders and Customs Clearing Agents (IFFCCA) operates under the umbrella of The Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce.

The Federation has proved to be a powerful force in meeting head-on the challenges that face the industry providing customs brokers and forwarders with the knowledge and management tools to best serve their clients as responsible members of the Nation's Business Community.
 
The public perception of the forwarding and customs broking industry is of the utmost concern to IFFCCA.
 
Through ongoing communication with trade publication and the general media, the Federation projects the industry's interest and objectives. The inherent importance of customs broking and freight forwarding to the Israeli Commerce is kept at the fore front of government and public attention.
 
Membership in IFFCCA is recognized as a symbol of professionalism. IFFCCA members carry IFFCCA's emblem on their letter head and in this way indicate that they satisfy the requirements in respect of quality and reliability set by the organized branch of the industry and that this has been verified before being admitted to the Federation.
 
IFFCCA strives to ensure that customs brokers and freight forwarders have all the tools necessary to do the best possible job for their clients, by doing so IFFCCA guarantees the competitiveness of the industry. Members of IFFCCA are also active members of FIATA (The Federation Internationale des Associations de Transitaires et Assimiles).The Federation is the largest of its kind in Israel and has 48 members through which some 80% of all goods imported and exported is carried out.
