Mr. Ron Berry , the new chairman of IELA

Mr. Ron Berry the joint managing director of the “Amit” Group of logistic companies was recently elected to his second term as chairman of IELA ( International Exhibition logistics Associates ).
 
Before assuming the chairmanship post Mr, Berry served, for a period of four years, as a board member and chairman of the technology & vocational training committee.
 
IELA, set up in 1985, is a well known international organization with some 100 active members from 55 countries whose main interest is the provision of one stop logistic service to exhibitions, trade fairs, commercial  events etc.
 
The  organization was established to promote professionalism in the field of exhibition logistics and increase efficiency among members as well as to improve communication channels between the logistic providers and the exhibitors.
 
During his terms in office Mr. Berry contributed a great deal to standardize exhibition freight operations mainly by the setting up of IELA internet web, the creation of an internationally accepted logistic manual – SMART TERMS – a combined shipment document as well as an internationally  accepted tariff layout.
