Orian, one of Israel’s major logistics services companies celebrated last week the recent merger of Schenker and BAX Global operations.

1,600 guests, Orian's clients, representatives of Bax Schenker management as well as company's employees were among the participants.

Mr. Chen Lamdan, director general of Orian, noted that Schenker and BAX Global become one - for the benefits of its customers. Together these two companies represent a strong unit in the global logistics market and complement their own individual strengths in the important markets around the globe.

Lamdan thanked Dr. Thomas C. Lieb, a Member of the Schenker Management Board responsible for global air and sea freight activities who represented Bax Schenker for the trust they had given Orian.

Dr. Lieb who replied noted that the visit was his second visit to Israel. He added that although Bax was represented in Israel by Transclal he was the one who made the decision to select Orian as the sole agent for the joint Bax Schenker global operation. The decision to select Orian was largely based on its commitment to excellence in generating added value for its customers and by providing a variety of creative and efficient logistical services.

He added that the new merger has created the industry's newest powerhouse in global logistics and transportation services, employing over 50,000 people in over 100 countries and has an annual turnover of $15 billions.

Both men announced the donation of 10,000 trees each for the rehabilitation of forests in the northern parts of Israel which were heavily damaged or destroyed by hundreds of Katyusha rockets launched at Israel during the recent conflict with Lebanon.
