The agreement includes freight forwarding, customs clearance, supervision during the transfer of cargo from the reefer unit to a reefer truck and deliver to its final location
Rosenthal, a known Israeli logistic company specializing in fresh produce, signed recently an exclusive agency agreement with Slovenia's CENSPED, to provide wide range of logistic services for Israeli freight forwarders handling fresh produce transport services to European destinations via the port of Koper.
Censped is situated near the port city of Koper that has always been known as an important junction and crossing of main trading routes.
Koper, whose geographical position in the northernmost part of the Adriatic Sea offers an efficient and simple connection between the Mediterranean and all other European markets.
Censped d.o.o. was founded in 1992, its primary activity being special purpose forwarding agency providing services for shipping companies and ships handling.
Ronny Rosenthal, director general of Rosenthal said after the signing ceremony that the agreement includes freight forwarding, customs clearance, supervision during the transfer of cargo from the reefer unit to a reefer truck and deliver to its final location.
In recent years there has been dramatic growth in fresh fruits and vegetables moving through the port of Koper to European inland destinations.
The growth in trade can be attributed in the main to the fact that transit time from Haifa to koper, using Zim line and MSC, has been shortened. According to Rosenthal it now takes 6 days to move perishable cargo from Haifa to European inland location.
5 years ago only 20 reefer containers per week had been shipped via Koper. At present there are almost 300 containers.
