"Turkish Delights", a famous Turkish exhibition that was on a three months show at the Israel's museum in Jerusalem, was safely returned home.
The exhibition, consisted of jewelry items, gold plated weapons and gold plated cutleries had been assembled in Istanbul from various Turkish museums and was air-freighted to Israel in early May 2004.
The exhibits, valued at us$44,000,000, are regarded as some of the rarest & oldest items found in Turkey, were given police escort from their arrival in Israel to the Jerusalem museum.
The complicated and fully synchronized transportation process was handled by the highly experienced exhibition department of "Amit Logistics" in close co-operation with " Ordan Cargo" Elinoar Fridan.
In a press release by the Israel Museum, the museum emphasized that many of the exhibits belong to the 15th – 19th century , a period in which the Topcapi palace was the centre of the Turkish empire.
The exhibition was originally due to be open for a period of 3 months however, the unexpected public demand made the museum address the Turkish Ambassador and request an extension until early October.
