UTi Worldwide Inc. noted that the purchase was aimed at improving service to the Israeli trading community


UTi Logistics Israel which was jointly owned by UTi Worldwide Inc. (75%) and Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. (25%) is now fully owned by UTi Worldwide Inc.

 

In a press release published late last week  by UTi Worldwide Inc. the company noted that the purchase was aimed at improving service to the Israeli trading community.

UTi Logistics Israel provides international air and ocean freight forwarding; customs brokerage; supply chain management solutions; integrated transport; shipping and handling for exhibitions and artwork; packing services; marine insurance; and project management.

 

The company employs 700 experts in commerce, customs brokerage and international shipping and is considered to be one of the top shipping and logistics companies in Israel. UTi has offices at all central shipping points in Israel: near Ben-Gurion International Airport (UTi corporate headquarters); the Haifa Port; Ashdod and Eilat; Ben-Gurion International Airport's cargo center; and at land border crossings with Egypt and Jordan.

 

UTi Worldwide is one of the largest companies of its kind in the world and is headquartered in the western United States. The company employs approximately 20,000 at 520 agencies and 178 logistics centers in 142 countries.
