The minister of Transport & Road Safety noted the event is a succesful initiative and added that he hopes this event will become an annual tradition. A diplomatic gathering within the event attracted 40 diplomats
 
“port2port 2007”, The international Logistics and Transportation Conference and Exhibition, which was held last week for two consecutive days at  the Avenue Convention Center at Airport City, Lod, has drawn thousands of visitors among them Business delagations from Europe, Senior Executives from major corporations, exporters, importers, shipping and forwarding agents and many visitors which enjoyed an international atmosphere.
 
Alongside the pavilions set by the biggest companies in the shipping, forwarding and air frieght sectors a professional conference was carried out with the participation of diverse speakers and panel members such as Mr. David Bayne- Ports and Terminals expert, former senior manager of P&O Ports; Ms. Petra Rittersberger, Managing Director, Sales & Marketing for Central & Eastern Europe, FedEx Express; Mr. Robert S. Stiriti, Customs Attachט, US Department of Homeland Security; Ms. Nicolette van der Jagt, Secretary General, European Shippers' Council which was a guest of the organizers; Ken Nieze, Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Kuehne + Nagel; Dr. Yoram Sebba,Vice Chairman, Zim Integrated Shipping Services; Mr. Gideon Siterman, Director General, Ministry of Transport & Road Safety and many more which contributed to the high standart event and professional sessions.
 
Mr. Shaul Mofaz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport & Road Safety, which opened the port2port event and participated at the Gala dinner, noted the event is a succesful initiative and added that he hopes this event will become an annual tradition in light of the importance of the logistic sector in Israel and throughout the world.
 
Many companies that took part in the event remarked it was a highly organized event and noted it was a professional production such as which was never seen before in Israel. Some of the lecturers from abroad pointed out the high level of speakers and the panels which followed the lectures.
 
Many other activities took place within the event such as a diplomatic gathering which was organized by port2port and Globus Gate Group, and hosted an event with the participation of 40 diplomats from the EU, Taiwan, Agrentine, Belguim, Chile, China, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Romania, Spain, USA and more. On top of that, business delegations from abroad met with Israeli companies and held meetings on the premises – meeting which contributed to future collaboration.
 
According to Mrs. Ilana Kapitolnik, CEO of Globus Gate Group, the event was a “hugh success”. Mr. Doron Geva, CEO of port2port added: “see you all at the port2port 2008 event”.
