The calls included the new Zim's ZCA service on the Asia-Eastern ports of America

During Operation Pillar of Defense, the city of Ashdod and its surrounding area was under constant missiles attack but nevertheless the port operated regularly. During the time the area was under attack, 38 ships worked in Ashdod port.

The containership ZIM Luanda arrived for the first time to the Port of Ashdod as part of the ZIM Container Service Atlantic (ZCA) new rotation.

The Israeli carrier Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. said the ship discharged food, chemicals, paper, resin, and defense supplies from New York, Savannah, and Halifax and took onboard several hundred containers to export to America, including outsize cargo, and departed on schedule to continue its route. The company said the ship was able to keep schedule.

ZCA new rotation is offering exceptional transit times from the US East Coast to Ashdod & Haifa. The transit time from New York to Ashdod is 22 days, the fastest in the market.

The new Ashdod call aims to strengthen and enhance the first-class services already offered by ZIM to the Israeli market.
