The new government company responsible for development of Israel’s seaports - Israel Ports - Development & Assets informed last week that A. Arenson Ltd had been declared the winner in a tender for construction and infrastructure work in the first stage of the Carmel port project in Haifa Port.
A. Arenson Ltd. is an International and Multinational Private company specializing in Heavy Construction, Civil engineering, industrial and commercial building. Israel Ports chairman Dan Tichon said in a press release that The NIS 500 million tender includes drying up 45 acres of sea area, construction of piers, and building infrastructure.
Tichon added that the first stage of the Carmel port project, is considered one of Israel’s largest infrastructure projects that would make Haifa Port one of the 50 leading ports in the world.
The project will include a modern cargo terminal equipped with advanced derricks for loading, unloading, and containers storage, combined with a new 700-meter pier, 14 meters deep. Mr. Amos Yaron director general of Israel Ports noted that work on the project would begin this year.
