A. Rosenfeld Shipping to represent CP Ships in Israel

CP Ships group which owns some of the better known international shipping brands, such as Contship, Lykes, TMM Lines, Italia Line, Cast and Canmar had announced that all its subsidiaries were to be represented in Israel by a single port agent.
 
According to CP Ship's spokesman, the decision to nominate a single agent had been made many months ago but only recently a decision was made to appoint A. Rosenfeld Shipping Ltd.
 
Up until 1993 only Canada Maritime shipping company(Canmar( was owned by CP Ships. As from 1993 the Canadian shipping group embarked upon a world-wide purchasing policy. In 1995 the company took control over Cast. In 1997 full control was taken over Lykes Lines and Contship Containerlines. In 1998 it bought Ivaran Lines and ANZDL. In 2000 TMM Lines, CCAL and in 2002 Italia Line. Throughout that period CP Ship's directors kept the brand names of the companies they had taken control of, believing that in this way each and every company would keep its own customers.
 
A. Rosenfeld had represented two of the above lines, namely Italia Line and TMM Lines. The others were represented by several local port agents.
 
According to the newly signed agreement A. Rosenfeld will represent as from September 1st 2005 all CP companies except "Canmar" which will be under A. Rosenfeld representation, a month later, on November 1st.
