Amos Uzani, Haifa Port CEO announced his resignation

Uzani questioned the government effectiveness in trying to apply new port tariff. His resignation will take effect at the end of April
 
Amos Uzani, the CEO of the Haifa Port, announced last week his resignation.
 
In a statement issued by the port Uzani said his resignation will take effect at the end of April.
 
Uzani, who advocated an independent way of running the port, said that his resignation followed "differences in managerial approaches between the minister and myself."
 
A few months ago Uzani questioned the government effectiveness in trying to apply new port tariff and suggested that the government would be better off by going ahead with privatization rather than dealing with the application of new port tariff structure.
 
Uzani advocated that the privatization process will solve not only the port tariff structure but also labor relations which seriously affect the ports service quality.
 
He hinted that poor relations between himself and Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz and ministry director general Gideon Siterman was the main reason for his decision.
