Container Depot 207, near the east Mediterranea port of Ashdod, was the final line of the JNF London-Jerusalem car race.

On May 20 2004 the cars ended up their race at the container depot from where they were loaded on board the motor vessel “Kastrel” and shipped back to London.

19 vintage cars, among which there were Jaguar XK 1960, Ferrari 360, Rover P5 1973, Jaguar S TYPE R, BMW M3, Ford Mustang and a 1963 Austin HILI, took part in the rally.

The rally is organized every two years by the Jewish National Fund (JNF). The participants depart from London via Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Switzerland and Greece.

The JNF hope to generate some NIS 2M from having sponsered the rally. The money raised will be devoted to the setting up of a new village for children, which is planned to be built in the southern part of the country.

Container Depot 207 belongs to the Allalouf group of companies which has been in the shipping business for many years.

The depot has specialised in stuffing and unstuffing containers, storage of general and dangerous cargoes.
