Mr Shaul Mofaz, the deputy prime ministers and Transport minister and Mr. Roni Bar-On Finance Minister signed last week the appointment of Ex- police commander Ya'akov Raz as chairman of Ashdod port, Raz (58) served 31 years in the Israeli police forces during which period he was the head of the community police, the civil guard and police traffic division head.
In 2007 Raz served as director in Ashtrom Group Ltd, one of the leading building corporation in Israel. The group operates in an extensive array of building developments and auxiliary activities in Israel and abroad. Through its subsidiary companies, the group is active in various construction sectors including building national infrastructure projects such as bridges, junctions, highways, seaports, railways and more.
Raz has a master degree in public administration from Bar Ilan University and bachelor degree in criminology and political siences.
