The Ministry of Transport appointed last week a committee of inquiry headed by captain Alex Gerson from the Israeli Shipping & Ports Authority to study the accident in which a Cypriot cruise ship Salamis Glory rammed into a fishing vessel coming out of the Israeli port of Haifa leaving two dead trawler crew.

According to Israeli police the incident happened at around 10pm when the Salamis Glory was leaving the port.

He said initial reports indicated that the Cypriot ship sustained no damage or injuries to any of its passengers or crew.
