Castel, Managing Director of Israel Scandinavian Maritime Agency and  Sweden's honorary consul, has replaced Mr. Shai Babad from Zim, who is about to leave his post.
 
Mr. David Castel, Managing Director of Israel Scandinavian Maritime Agency (Israscan), was elected to be the vice president of the Chamber of Shipping of Israel.
Castel is the second generation in the Castel family to act in this role, as this role was fulfilled also by his late father, Shlomo Castel.
 
 Israscan acts as agents for OOCL, SOL, Cosiarma and Marfret in Israel.
 
The Chamber is an association representing maritime shipping entities in Israel and playing an important role in the maritime transport, trade and tourism industries.
 
Castel has replaced Mr. Shai Babad General Manager Israel and Near East Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. who is about to leave his post. Babad is being replaced by Rear Adm. Rani Ben-Yehuda, former deputy head of the Israeli navy who will join the Chamber of Shipping board of directors.
 
Mr. David Castel M.Sc., Sweden's honorary consul, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Haifa & the North and holder of the Swedish knighthood Royal Order of the North Star which was awarded by His Excellency King Karl Gustaf XVI of Sweden. The Swedish knighthood was presented to Castel in recognition of his work on behalf of Sweden, for having promoted its economic interests in Israel for many years.
