Haifa port's western wharf whose main part was built by the British and considered to be highly protected from extreme weather conditions is located in the western end of the main port. The terminal has a 400 meter quay (1312 feet) with quayside water depth of up to 10.5 meters (35 feet).
M/V Cala Paradiso, a multipurpose vessel, operated by Cosiarma, a company belonging to GF Group and represented in Israel by Israel Scandinavian Maritime Agency Ltd., loaded over 3.500 pallets of fresh fruit and vegetables destined to the French port Sטte located in the south near Marseille.
The vessel was due to arrive Sטte on Monday and cargo moved to European fresh produce hubs on Tuesday.
