Mitz, 49, was previously employed at Cellcom as VP of the corporate sector; he moved to Eilat Port in March 2007 after beating 60 other contenders for the job.
 
During Mitz's term in office he oversaw several large projects to develop the port, which among other things increased its storage capacity to imported cars by 150%.
 
During last year port's revenue increased by 12% and profit was improved by over 100%.

Eilat Port port is located on the Gulf of Aqaba, an arm of the Red Sea. It is strategically located near the Sinai peninsula, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia and is Israel's gateway to Africa and East Asia.
