The port calling id part of the Black Sea Express Service of the G6 Alliance


A Container ship registered in Hong Kong and operated by Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd (OOCL) made the first ever call in Israel.
 
 The TEU 6,000 container vessel called at Ashdod port as part of the Asia-Black Sea Express Service (ABX) operated by the G6 Alliance members: APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Nippon Yusen Kaisha and OOCL.
 
OOCL is represented in Israel by Israel Scandinavian Maritime Agency Ltd.
 
Managing Director of the agency David Castel noted during the welcome ceremony at the port, that the OOCL service will be a fast and a direct service to Ashdod.
 
He added that OOCL will offer a reliable service with very short transit time from the Far East to Ashdod and from Ashdod to the Far East. OOCL will also offer direct service to/from Istanbul, Odessa, Constanta to/from Ashdod, with very short transit time.
Mr. Castel noted that as a consequence, the North Europe service will improve as well, since the new G6 line will also carry transshipment containers destined for the North European trade,  to the Egyptian hub port of Port Said in only 1 day of transit.
 
The rotation of the service will be as follows:
Ningbo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Singapore, Port Said, Ashdod, Istanbul, Constanta, Odessa, Istanbul, Ashdod, Port Said, Singapore.
 
Cargo is also accepted for all ports in the Far East and Australia/New Zealand.
