Messers Galram surveyors ltd. has been nominated as sole agent to Israel by the Lloyds Agency Department. The nomination became effective as from 1st July 2004 and will cover all claims insured by the Lloyd’s insurance market.
Mr. Yoram Golan director general of Galram told reporters that as far as the international insurance market is concerned, Israel is currently regarded as an important insurance market. The nomination of Galram as a single Israeli company to handle claims, is further seen by the local insurance market as an act indicating the increasing importance of the Israeli insurance market.
Lloyds Agency Department is a department within Lloyd’s of London . It was set up in 1811 and presently employs a worldwide network of 350 agencies and 500 sub-agencies whose main task is to provide underwriters with surveying services as well as information about vessels calling Israeli ports , damage to ships etc. the information is processed by Lloyds and is made available to the insurance companies.
Galram, an ISO2000 certified, was established by Mr. Yoram Golan, a former captain in the Israeli merchant marine. Mr. Golan is a graduate of the insurance institute and holds a business management degree.
The company employs 12 people in Haifa and Ashdod.
Galram serves most of the Israeli insurance companies as well as shipowners, freight forwarders, importers , exporters, Bonded warehouses and logistic providers.
The company also represents in Israel INTERTEK the pre-shipment inspection company as well as the French AXA insurance company, PICC of China and several P&I clubs.
