The election has yet to be approved by Israeli Ministers of Finance and Transportation
Gideon Siterman was elected last month as chairman of the port of Ashdod board of directors. The election is yet to be approved by Israel's ministers of transport and finance.
Siterman, who holds a Bachelor degree in accounting and economics from the Tel-Aviv University, served as Chief Executive Officer for the Israel's Ministry of Transportation, as well as Chief Business Officer of M. Wertheim Group from 2001 until 2006. Between 1997-2000, he served as minister of economic affairs in the Israeli Embassy in London.
Siterman has also introduced and implemented Private Finance Initiative System (PFI/PPP) to the Israeli Government and public sector.
