Haifa Port CEO Amos Uzani ordered last week the Haifa Port's internal auditor to investigate the tenders committee technical staff presently studying three offers for the supply of 22 container gantry cranes to the port.
The Euro 100 million international tender for 22 gantry cranes for the container terminal at the port, was published two years ago, and three foreign companies submitted bids; from Germany , China and Finland.
It is understood that anonymous complaints were lodged on several occasions against Uzani and against former chairman David Hermesh over improprieties on behalf of the Chinese.
All the claims were dismissed by special investigators.
