Avriel bar Joseph was willing to be appointed as active chairman, a step that was rejected by the board

 
Avriel Bar Joseph, the Chairman of the Haifa Port Board of Directors, has submitted his resignation to the Minister of Transport & Road Safety Israel Katz, Minister of Finance Yuval Steinitz and to the Haifa port board of directors.
 
Bar Joseph has been a member of the Haifa Port's Board of Directors since September 2011 and was appointed Chairman of the Board in February 2012.
 
It is understood that Bar Joseph was willing to be nominated as active chairman of the port's board of directors, which was not accepted by the board members.
In his present position, Mr. Bar Joseph serves as the Deputy and Substitute Leader of Israel's National Security Council.

 
Bar Joseph, R. Admiral (Ret.) served in the IDF for 25 years in the Technical-Logistical Department of the Israeli Navy. Bar Joseph has a B.S.C. in Ship Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Glasgow in Scotland and an M.S.C. in Ship Engineering from the University of Michigan in the United States.
