The port expects 2011 to be another record breaking yeardue to the full integration of the Carmel terminaland the introduction of new port equipment.
The Carmel terminal has a 700m main quay and a 250m secondary quay. Water depth at quay stands at 15.5m. The terminal provides an additional capacity of about 600,000 box moves per year.
Alongside operating the Carmel terminal, Haifa Port will complete the integration of an advanced Terminal operating System (TOS) at all Port's container terminals and gates. Integrating this advanced system will be a required milestone and platform for the continued improvement of the level of service to the company's customers, and will best take advantage of the operational equipment and human resources at the company's disposal.
