During March the port handled TEU123,500 compared to TEU 108,000, the previous container record
Haifa port reported last week that March 2008 was a record month for container movements.
In a press release the port said that during March the port handled TEU123,500 compared to TEU 108,000, the previous container record.
Mr. Amos Uzani, Haifa Port Co. CEO said that the new container record shows that the highly professional port workers can handle greater number of containers. However, he added, the lack of storage areas prevents greater records.
