Haifa port’s newly installed TOS (Terminal Operating System) is working in a full speed at all cintainer docks in the port.
At the beginning of the last week, the newly installed system suffered severe faults and stoppages. Technicians ordered toshut it down for all yard& quays.
As a results of this, the support system technicians order port operations to reduceoperating container gangs to 1 gang per vessel. By the end of the week, technicians managed to overcome the difficulties returning gradually to normal working procedure.
The Haifa Port Company has been replacing the company's 20-year-old container management system with Navis SPARCS N4, the industry's leading and most advanced terminal operating system (TOS).
The port's container terminals include the Western, Eastern, Carmel and Kishon terminals. The Port of Haifa is expected to increase container movements to 2.5 million TEU's in the coming years, after the Carmel new container terminal is fully operational.
