Hatsu  Marine, a subsidiary of the global Evergreen shipping company, is to start a weekly containerized service from the Far East to the Israeli medports of Ashdod & Haifa via the Italian trans-shipment port of Taranto.

Mr. Raffi Nachmani director general of Oriental Shipping, the Israeli port agent for Evergreen told reporters that the new service serves most of Far Eastern ports in China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.
 
In addition the company offers a weekly service from European ports of Rotterdam, Antwerp, Hamburg & Lisbon via the Italian trans-shipment port of Taranto. The Italian port is also connected to other services serving Ierland , Poland, Denmark , Finland, Astonia , Norway, Russia and Spain.

Mr. Nachmani reiterated that the new service via Taranto would be provided by two Teu1,100 ships and one Teu 600 ship.

Hatsu Marine is a London based company established in 2002 as a fully owned subsidiary of Evergreen. The company presently operates a fleet of scheduled Far East to Europe container service with teu capacity ranging up to Teu 6,300 per ship.
