Marita shipping recently completed the transportation of two earthmoving tractors weighing 78 tons each from Israel to Kamarov in Siberia.
The project was carried out in three stages which included the loading at Ashdod on board the company's regular ship serving the Russian port Rostov. At Rostov the units were unloaded and re-loaded on low-bed vehicles and transported, under police escort, 5,000 km overland to Kamarov. The journey lasted 25 days.
Marita shipping runs regular 3,000 – 5,000 dwt capacity conventional ships between the CIS countries Cyprus and Israel carrying general cargo, agricultural products as well as containers.
