Gold-Line Shipping Ltd. an Israeli privately owned shipping agency, has announced it has agreed to represent Swire Shipping in Israel.
Swire is a multinational conglomerate with interests spanning five continents and principal areas of operation in the Asia-Pacific region, centred on Greater China. China Navigation's (CNCo.) parent company, John Swire and Sons Limited, is headquartered in London and controls a range of wholly owned businesses in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, East Africa, Sri Lanka, the USA and UK.
Swire Shipping is the brand name of China Navigation's (CNCo.) principal managed liner services. The company operates 12 liner trades, servicing its core trading area of Asia, North America, Australasia and the South Pacific, and extending to Europe, Indian sub-continent, Middle East and South America via transshipments.
Swire Shipping deploys CNCo's owned and managed fleet of 24 multipurpose ships, as well as chartering in six vessels to serve its trades, which cover around 130 ports worldwide. The company operates dedicated and multipurpose vessels to Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Salomon Islands, Australia, New Zealand, East Timor, Micronesia, Tahiti, Vanuatu, destinations which are difficult to be reached from Israel.
Israeli exports and imports will connect to the service via the company's Singapore hub connecting East and Southeast Asia with the South Pacific Islands.
