Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd signed an agreement with Haifa Port, under which Haifa will resume its role as Zim's trans-shipment port for the East Mediterranean.
Under the agreement Haifa will resume its role as Zim's transshipment port for the East Mediterranean.
The company said that the decision to bring its transshipment activity back to Haifa was made, among other things, at the request of Haifa Port management, as well as out of operational and commercial considerations.
ZIM CEO Rafi Danieli said, "We are happy to be returning to Zim's home port of Haifa. We see Haifa Port as a modern and advanced port that is committed to efficiency and constant improvement in its service to customers. Zim is happy to return and to expand its cooperation with Haifa Port, with the aim of improving its service to customers in Israel and in the whole region."
Moshe Ivri-Sukenik, chairman of the Haifa Port board of directors, said, "Haifa Port sees Zim as a most important customer. The company's board of directors, its management and its workers, thank Zim for the faith it has placed in Haifa Port and its capabilities, and are committed to justifying that faith. Welcome home."
