Zim Tianjin, a TEU 10,070 vessel, (IMO: 9398462), flag: Liberia, DeadWeight (ton): 116,440, length x breadth: 349m x 46m, built 2010 by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., South Korea is the largest container vessel ever to call at Haifa.

 

The vessel arrived last Sunday from Rotterdam en route via the Suez Canal to the Far East. On same day another large container ship the TEU 9,200 MSC Pamela left the port of Haifa en route to New York.

 

MSC Pamela was built by Samsung Heavy Industries and launched in 2005. The vessel measures 336.6m in length, a draft of 15m, with a gross tonnage of 107,200 and with a breadth of 45.6m (150ft); is capable of a maximum speed of 25.2 knots. She sails under the Panamanian flag for the Mediterranean Shipping Company.
