ZIM Container Service Atlantic (ZCA) has added a new call at Ashdod on its Container Atlantic service. The new call will open up a 22 day eastbound New York/Ashdod transit, and 19 days from Savannah.

The first Ashdod call took place on November 19th by the 4,250 TEU Zim Luanada. The new ZCA call rotation will now be Haifa, Israel; Piraeus, Greece; Genoa, Italy; Tarragona, Spain; Halifax, Nova Scotia; New York; Savannah, Ga.; Kingston, Jamaica; Tarragona; Ashdod; Haifa.

Deployment will remain six 4,200 TEU vessels. The new Ashdod call follows the addition of Halifax at the beginning of 2012. The new call aims to strengthen and enhance the first-class services already offered by ZIM to the Israeli market, from and to both Haifa and Ashdod.

Nissim Yochai, Zim's VP Customer Relations noted that Zim continue to provide premium service to customers. The new call is another step in ZIM’s ongoing efforts to improve customer service and maintain ZIM’s leading position in this trade.
