Israel’s ocean carrier Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd is reorganizing the port rotation of its independent Asia-India Subcontinent-East Med Service, known as the AME Service.
The changes include a new port call at Ningbo, China, and suspension of an existing call at Colombo, Sri Lanka. A new weekly call at Ningbo will be added from 22 September and the present call at Colombo will be removed from 27 October. The first vessel to call Ningbo under the new schedule will be the Zim USA, voyage 66W, arriving Sept. 22.
The last vessel to serve Colombo will be the Zim Asia, voyage 68E, arriving Oct. 26.
Further to this, the service’s Med call order will be reshuffled, with Alexandria to be called first.
The revised rotation will be as follows:
Xiamen, Ningbo, Shanghai, Da Chan Bay (Shenzhen), Port Kelang, Cochin, Nhava Sheva (Jawaharlal Nehru),, Mundra, Suez Canal (way point), Alexandria, Haifa, Ashdod, Mersin, Haifa, Suez Canal (way point), Xiamen.
The weekly ‘AME’ turns in 55 days and it deploys a fleet of eight TEU3,480 panamax-beam sister vessels of the German-built ‘Zim Atlantic’ series.
