A. Rosenfeld shipping ltd., port agents for Lloyd Triestino (LT) in Israel, has informed the shipping public that at the end of August, its principle will upgrade its Intra Med Service.
The upgraded service will not only include the replacing of present ships by larger capacity vessels, but also faster vessels and the changing of sailing schedule in order to shorten transit time.
The two container ships Adria Verde& Adria Bianca with TEU 900 capacity each will be replaces by two TEU 1,555 capacity vessels - Agiasofia& Vlaherna.
The newly planned schedule, effective from the end of August, will be: Taranto, Alexandria, Limassol, Ashdod, Haifa, Mersin, Taranto.
In the present schedule ships called at Mersin after calling Ashdod and before calling at Haifa which resulted in long waiting time for Israeli exports to Turkey .
Mr. Zari Rozenfeld, Director General of A. Rozenfeld Shipping, told reporters that LT management decided to alter the present schedule due to requests made by Israeli exporters and importers. The newly planned schedule will, according to Mr. Rozenfeld, benefit exporters from the north of Israel who will now enjoy a shorter transit time.
Mr.Rozenfeld added that Lloyd Triestino is also introducing a new shipping service linking it's international operation through its Med. transshipment hub at Taranto, with Black Sea ports. The new service will call at the following ports: Taranto, Piraeus, Gemlik, Istanbul, Constansa, Odessa, Taranto.
Shipments to and from the above ports will be received by LT ships calling at the ports of Ashdod & Haifa .
