Haifa Port board chairman Ben-Zion Salman announced yesterday that Mendi Zaltzman, ex director general of Haifa Port, was nominated as the new CEO of the Haifa Port Corporation.

Zaltzman, 56, managed Haifa Port until its reform in 2005, when it turned into a government company. He lost the tender to man the CEO's seat to Amos Uzani.

In a press release issued by the port's chairman he noted that the decision to nominate Zaltzman, an experienced port director, was taken in view of the port reform Act as well as the challenges facing the port.
