Allalouf & Co. shipping Ltd. and Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line) celebrated recently 20 years of continuing service to Eilat Port and the transport of one million cars to Israel.

The event took place on Thursday 22.12.11 at Eilat Port and was honored by the presence of the vice President of NYK Car Carrier Group, Mr. Eli Shachar, NYK representative in Israel, Ephraim Alter, managing director of Allalouf & Co. shipping Ltd.

NYK, Japan's largest shipping company and one of the world's ten largest, was founded in 1885. The company operates worldwide and has a large fleet of about a hundred line ships including container ships and conventional ships, holiday cruisers, passenger ferries, Ro-Ro ferries and feeder vessels.

The company, which has been represented throughout its activity in Israel by Allalouf, started its activity in Israel in 1991 and this year it is celebrating 20 years of activity. When the company began serving Israel, it established two service lines that are active to this day:  A service line for transporting automobiles and vehicles, which runs from Japan, through Korea, Thailand, India, Singapore and from there to Eilat Port and a weekly direct container service line operating between Israel and the Far East. The container line calls at Ashdod and Haifa Ports.

The event took place at the side of  NYK's car carrier "Helios Leader"(IMO: 9476745), Pure Car Carrier with a capacity of 6,341 Cars, Size: L200m W32m D8.1m, Flag: Japan, Built 2009.

George Horesh, owner and president of Union Motors Limited an automotive retailer in Israel which sells Toyota cars thanked NYK and Allalouf for their excellent cooperation and support.

Ephraim Alter, managing director of Allalouf noted that NYK's car service to Israel could not have been a success story without the close cooperation of four partners: the clients who provided the service with outstanding support, NYK who have continually upgraded the service, the port of Eilat who provided first class service and Allalouf  which links the three.

On the occasion, the port of Eilat awarded Mr. Nati Allalouf, vice president of Allalouf & Co. shipping Ltd. With a long cooperation appreciation award.
