In a cost-cutting move, Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. has selected Orange Business Services to rationalize further its global Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network.


Under a multiple-year contract, ZIM will gain a future-ready network including, optimised routing, guaranteed business continuity and backup, and a unified and cloud computer services-ready platform.
 
It will be used to support over 100 vessels carrying over 2 million containers a year and 6,000 employees at ports of call in over 120 countries.
 
Orange Business Services has been working with shipping and maritime industry clients for a long time, delivering services ranging from satellite communication to telepresence, to eight of the world's top 10 shipping companies.
