Port of Eilat signed first cooperation agreement with port of Keelung

The agreement intends to strengthen technical, professional as well as logistic co-operation between the two ports
 
Eilat port chairman Yair Chazan and port executive officer Moshe Mitz signed last week a co-operation agreement with the port of Keelong, Taiwan.
 
The agreement which is first of its kind among Israeli ports, intends to strengthen technical, professional as well as logistic co-operation between the two ports. The agreement was signed in the presence of Taiwan's Minister of Transport and Communication, Deputy Minister of Finance, the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Industry Trade and Labor and prominent representatives of the Taiwanese industry.
 
Keelung Port, the second largest port in Taiwan, located near the northern tip of Taiwan. Keelung Port has 57 berths. Its two container terminals, one each on its eastern and western banks, have 15 container berths equipped with 29 gantry cranes capable ofhandling 13-18 rows of containers at a time.
 
Mr. Chazan and Mr. Mitz had previously visited Hong Kong where they met local officials and representatives of several shipping companies and representatives of local importers and exporters who trade with Israel. Their next stop was Japan where the two men were scheduled to meet the management of NYK which calls at Eilat with its car carrier.
