Maala's 2013 Index: gold ranking for Ashdod port

Ashdod port received a gold ranking in Maala's 2013 Corporate Social Responsibility index – CSR.

Maala is part of a global network of organizations promoting CSR around the globe.

Maala's 2013 index consists of 82 companies which produce 63% of Israel's GDP of the business sector an overall turnover of NIS 331 billion.

The aggregated number of workers of all participating companies is 199,406, which constitute 10% of Israel's total no. of workers in the business sector.

The index focuses on 6 main aspects in order to strengthen the positive social and environmental impact of the business sector: Investing in workers, Diversifying the workforce , Donations and volunteer work, Energy, Waste, Water, Wastewater and Fuel Resource management, Ensuring proper Corporate Governance and Increasing transparency.

Maala – Business for Social Responsibility is Israel’s leading advocate for corporate social responsibility (CSR) and good corporate citizenship.

The Index, which has been produced annually since 2003, is prepared in partnership with McKinsey & Company, Ernst & Young, S&P Maalot, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and Greeneye.
