Port of Haifa recorded its 10 million export container since 2005

Haifa port continues to maintain the lead in shipping and handling containers in Israel

" ZIM TEXAS", a TEU 4,250 Container ship, registered in Marshall Islands, operating in the ZCA -Zim Container Service Atlantic, loaded last week at Haifa port, the port's 10 million export container since 2005.

 

The vessel which is en-route to the USA loaded the container at the Haifa port Carmel container Terminal , the ceremony was held in the presence of Mr. Rani Ben-Yehuda, General Manager Israel & Near East Area, ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. Oren Milshtain, acting chairman, Haifa port company, CEO of Haifa Port, Mendy Zaltzman.



Haifa port continues to maintain the lead in shipping and handling containers in Israel.

 

Last year the port recorded a new record of no less than 1,377,162 TEU containers, an 11.5% increase in comparison to 2011. The previous record was set in 2010, and was for 1,263,552 TEU.

 

Since the beginning of 2013 the port handled TEU 551,000. The Haifa Port's outputs have recently been in an upward momentum, and in the past months a dramatic growth has been noted in the rate of unloading the containers, achieving results that place Haifa in the first place in Israel, by a wide margin from the competitors .
