Mr. Amos Ron, director general of the Israeli Port Authority (IPA), called last week, upon all parties involved in the ports restructure negotiation process to make the necessary efforts and bring the process to its end before the year's end.
Mr. Ron noted that unless the parties come to an agreement the port authority is unable to proceed with its re-structure program. He emphasized that the ports re-structure law will enter into force in February 2005 and the parties should finalized their agreement before this date in order to avoid any conflicts that may bring more strike actions.
IPA, according to Mr. Ron, is currently carrying out all the necessary preparation work needed for the port re-structure program .
