Siterman emphasized he would set up agreed set of rules processes that will assist all parties involved in the marine logistic chain to overcome barriers and create professional dialogue

Transportation Ministry Director General Gideon Siterman said last week during a conference organized by the Israeli Shippers Council that if government and industry do not treat the port situation as most urgent, the crisis may damage the economy as a whole.

Siterman emphasized that he would set up agreed set of rules processes that would assist all parties involved in the marine logistic chain to overcome barriers and create professional dialogue between the parties.

He added that he would in person get involved in solving labor relations at the port of Ashdod and the lack of storage facilities at the port of Haifa. He noted that if no solutions are found to the Haifa port land and storage problems he would not hesitate to bring the matter before the government.
