Manufacturers' Association director general Mr. Yoram Blizovsky said last week that six more companies filed lawsuits against the Haifa and Ashdod port workers and that dozens more companies were lining up to sue. The NIS 4.25 million lawsuits filed by the six, were filed with the Tel Aviv district court.

Blizovsky added that a total of 21 companies had filed lawsuits against the Haifa and Ashdod port workers and the Histadrut labor federation over the strikes.

The combined amount of their demand for damages was over NIS 11 million.
The companies filed suits against the Histadrut labor federation and against the union leaders after the labor federation disobeyed a court order to end strikes actions at the Ashdod and Haifa ports earlier this year.

A sixth company, Mor, had, according Blizovsky filed personal lawsuits and had not indicated the sums involved.
