After six years since Udi Angel became Chairman of ZIM, Angel has decided to end his chairmanship of ZIM.
Angel will remain an active Board member and will serve as the Chairman of its Executive Committee (members of are Idan Ofer, Amnon Lion, Yossi Rosen and Yoram Sebba).
“When I undertook this mission, as representative of the OFER family, I did so in addition to my many other engrossing assignments within the group. The growth and development of these businesses, and especially their interesting potential, led me to engage a series of consultations and considerations, from which I concluded that my chairmanship of ZIM should come to an end”, said Angel.
Angel said that the Company consistently conducted a long chapter of organizational changes, despite many constraints, it has acquired 25 large container vessels and containers of various types, and intensified its involvement in Shipping related businesses. He added that the Company has designed and executed efficiency-intensiveand savings projects – the consequences of which exceeded initial targets. “It has substantially improved its balance sheet and cash flow, developed material changes in its core business of shipping services network, expanding its cooperation with other Shipping lines, It has invested in modern control IT systems and revised the physical infrastructure in its offices in London, USA, China and Israel”.
“I am proud, happy and privileged to have being a part of these activities”, said Angel and added that he has always felt the harmony that prevailed with the Company’s employees and shareholders, with whom he has shared difficult moments as well as time of joy. “I have always known that the Company consists of people worthy of my complete trust”.
“I would like to wish ZIM’s employees and management that together we’ll advance the development, prosperity and business growth of the Company. I wholeheartedly wish much success to the new Chairman, Idan, and to the new appointed president, Doron”, said Udi Angel.
