Amos Uzani President of the Haifa port company said last week during a New Year reception meeting that Haifa Port Ltd. intends to strengthen its relationship with the maritime community and with all those involved with maritime transport, including shipping companies, shipping agents, transport companies, customs agents, importers, exporters and others.
Uzani revealed that the company had began talks with its workers to provide quality service 24 hours per day, 364 days per year, based on the highest international standards.
He added that if the outcome of the talks were successful the port would move to 23H work in the first stage, and will later move to full 24H. He added that the company was about to implement a new ERP (enterprise resource planning) computerized management software to increase managerial control over the company's daily activities.
Uzani noted that the system was installed at a cost of NIS 15m.over 18 months,and would ensure more efficient integration of the port's operations. He also noted that the company was in its final stages of implementing the TOS container terminal management and operations system. These two projects will strengthen the port's capacity to provide quality and timely service.
