ZAISCO - Zim American Integrated Shipping Company Inc. proudly announces it’s participation in the Customs – Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), effective since ZIASCO’s enrollment on April 23, 2004.
ZAISCO’s customers may now state that they ship their cargo with a C-TPAT sea carrier. Such a statement establishes not only that their international trade security is strong but also they are themselves in compliance with C-TPAT as regards to those shipments. The statement can therefore support customers’ own C-TPAT applications, if they are not already C-TPAT signatories. If they are, the statement satisfies the requirements of C-TPAT verification. In other words, customers may submit to the Department of Homeland Security’s Bureau of Customs and Border Protection this client-advisory letter, instead of information itemizing ZAISCO’s detailed security plans.
As both a C-TPAT member and a current member of the Carrier Initiative Program and the Business Anti-Smuggling Coalition, ZIASCO has fully committed itself to helping the U.S. Government fight terrorism.
Zim’s spokesman added that “ZAISCO will do everything in its power to prevent terrorists, explosives, weapons of mass destruction and drugs from compromising conveyances and entering the United States and its territories. ZAISCO recognizes that heightened efforts and cooperation with Customs and other government agencies are critical to attaining global security. ZAISCO considers C-TPAT a core component of means designed to accomplish that goal”.
