ZIM Integrated Shipping Services has become a partner in Antwerp Gateway Terminal, acquiring a 20% share.
Antwerp Gateway Terminal, which started operating in September 2005, is characterized by high productivity, efficiency and excellent road, rail and inland waterway connections to the Hinterland. It will offer a capacity of 3.5 million TEU’s by 2010.
ZIM purchased the previous A.P. Moller (Maersk) 20% share from the terminal operators, DP World. Other partners are DP World, with 42.5%, COSCO Pacific – 20%, CMA-CGM – 10% and Duisport – 7.5%.
This new investment will enable a significant enhancement of ZIM's existing services, as well as the introduction of new lines, serving the trade between North Europe and destinations in the USA, the Caribbean, Central America, West Africa, the Far East and the Mediterranean.
