The company will add a TEU4,250 vessel to each service in order to maintain similar levels of service in terms of frequency and minor changes in transit times

Shipping circles in Israel said last week that Zim Integrated Shipping Services is about to introduce super slow steaming procedures on two major ZIM lines container services - Zim Container Service (ZCS) and East Mediterranean Express Service (EMX).

The company will employ "Super-Slow Steaming" policy, a measure that will enable substantial fuel savings and significantly reduced CarbonDioxide - CO2 and Nitrogen Oxides - NOx emissions. "Super-Slow steaming" will commence in both container services in the coming weeks.

It was also noted that ZIM Integrated Shipping Services will add a TEU4,250 vessel to each service, thus maintaining similar levels of service in terms of frequency and with only minor changes in transit times. ZCS will deploy 16 container vessels while EMX will deploy 11 container vessels.
