Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. informed last week that the General Rate Increase (GRI) of USD 275 per TEU planned for July 1st, is postponed to August 1st, 2011.

The GRI applies to westbound cargo from Asia and Indian sub-continent to West Mediterranean, Adriatic and North Europe destinations.

The company noted that the update is necessary in order to maintain its current levels of service and high reliability.

The move follows Mediterranean Shipping Company's (MSC) move to postpone its US$250 per TEU rate increase on Asia-North Europe-Mediterranean services from July 1 to August 1.
