ZIM integrated shipping services Ltd. informed the shipping community last week that it will add a call at the port of Genoa to its rotation of ships of its ZCS service. The company noted that it will continue to call Livorno. The first vessel scheduled to call Genoa is the ZIM Beijing, on Sept. 17
The ZCS service deploys 15 containerships with capacities of TEU 5,000 in the weekly service.
In a press release the company said that "This upgrade is intended to respond to the Northwest Italian market demand, and to offer improved, reliable and direct service between Italy and U.S. East and West coasts”.
Port rotation of the ZCS service is Haifa, Livorno, Genoa, Barcelona, Halifax, New York, Savannah, Kingston, Los Angeles, Oakland, Ningbo, Shekou, Hong Kong, Keelung, Balboa, Kingston, Savannah, New York, Halifax, Barcelona and Haifa.
