Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. announced last Monday it will raise freight rates on shipments from Asia to South America beginning July 1.
The increase is US$500 per 20-foot container (all types) and US$1,000 per 40-foot container (all types including Hi-Cube).
In a statement issued by the company it was noted that “The rate increase is necessary in view of market conditions and current unsustainable rate levels and in order to continue to operate our services with same high levels of reliability and service to customers”.
